Gia Hepfler, MA, LPC

Hello! I'm glad you stopped by.

I grew up in west central Wisconsin.  After graduating from UW-Stout I moved to Arizona where I completed my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.  After eleven years of living in Arizona, I moved back to Wisconsin to be back with my family.  Throughout my career in counseling, I have worked with people experiencing different types of trauma and life stressors. My passion is in being able to bring clients an experience in therapy where they find empowerment, healthier perceptions of themselves, and the ability to strengthen relationships.

All clients present with different strengths and struggles, so I know that no single approach will fit for every individual.  I have been trained in a range of modalities including play therapy, sand tray therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, along with certification as a family trauma professional.

Welcome! I'm glad you're here.

I grew up in a tiny town near the Eau Claire area. I was raised with one older sibling and had a small extended family. Events that I experienced during my teenage years led me to my education choices. After high school I attended UWGB where I majored in both Human Development and Psychology. Immediately after completing my undergraduate degrees I moved further south to obtain my Masters degree in Social Work at UW-Milwaukee.  My goal while completing my education was to eventually work with female adolescents. However, life took me a different path and I begin my career doing hospice care. While I truly love hospice work, I am thankful to now be focusing on my initial career interests!

After completing my education, I met my husband, moved back to the Eau Claire area and married into a very large family. In my spare time I enjoy sitting around a campfire, reading a good book, traveling and spending quality time with my husband and my dog, Ole.

If you think we may be a good match for working together, I would love to hear from you!

I'm also a wife and mother who knows that the daily life of families does not match the idyllic picture painted on family Christmas cards. It's a whole lot messier than that...both literally and metaphorically! That is why I try my best to create a therapy environment that combines my professional skills with a family-friendly, comfortable space. If you have any questions you'd like to ask me before scheduling an appointment, please feel free to contact me. I understand that it is a big decision and important to find a therapist who is a good fit for you and/or your family.

Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome! I'm glad you're here.

I'm just going to dive right in and share a few things about myself. I grew up in a family being the youngest of five children in rural Wisconsin. I loved it (most of the time)! I had a great childhood filled with a lot of good times, but I also had some bad times mixed in. Because of those bad times, I know what it's like to struggle as a child and teen  with things that are both within and outside of one's control. Thankfully, though, I also know that receiving proper support during the rough times can make a monumental impact on the outcomes of health and wellness far into adulthood. That is why I'm passionate about supporting children and their families successfully overcome any barriers that are blocking their way to a healthy and fulfilling life.

Instilling hope and

creating brighter futures!
